Irakli Nadareishvili: This is the seventh time when Georgia continuously participates in China International Import Expo

"Export promotion is one of the priority areas of our country's economic policy, as official statistics show. Last year, over 6 billion dollars of products were exported from Georgia, which is a record figure. A similar trend is maintained in the three quarters of 2024. The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Enterprise Georgia Agency traditionally provide Georgian exporters with a number of promotional programs, including participation in various exhibitions and other types of events. The Agency offers local exporters to participate in up to 20 international exhibitions every year," – Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Irakli Nadareishvili said. The Deputy Minister visited the Georgian pavilions at the China International Import Exhibition in Shanghai and talked to the representatives of the companies participating in the exhibition.

As Irakli Nadareishvili noted, Georgia is participating in the China International Import Exhibition, which is the largest event of its kind in the world, for the seventh time in a row. The Deputy Minister stated that China is an important trade and economic partner of Georgia, therefore, the Shanghai exhibition is a good opportunity for both experienced and novice exporters to present their products at such a large-scale exhibition and to be able to establish business contacts with potential partners.

Together with the Deputy Minister, Mikheil Khidureli, the Head of the Enterprise Georgia Agency, and Paata Kalandadze, the Georgian ambassador to China, were present at the exhibition.

About 40 Georgian companies participated in the Shanghai exhibition with the support of the Enterprise Georgia Agency and included producers of food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, leather and accessories as well as representatives of light industry, etc. Georgia had three pavilions at the Shanghai exhibition this year. In addition to the pavilions of Georgian companies, visitors to the exhibition also had the opportunity to get acquainted with the country's pavilion, where they were able to receive information about the culture and traditions of Georgia, tourist attractions, as well as important economic achievements of the country, investment and business environment.

The visitors of the exhibition had the opportunity to get acquainted with the diverse history and culture of Georgia, the unique script and the centuries-old traditions of wine production, see videos and information brochures about the tourist and investment potential of Georgia. Over 120 countries participated in the exhibition in 2024. Organizers expected the exhibition to attract over 500 000 visitors and buyers.
