First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development discussed with the founder of Emaar Properties, Mohamed Alabbar, the possibility of entering the Georgian market and implementing large investment projects. The meeting was held within the framework of Levan Davitashvili’s visit to the United Arab Emirates. Deputy Ministers Mariam Kvrivishvili and Genadi Arveladze also attended the meeting.
Current trends of the Georgian economy and future development prospects were discussed during the meeting and the members of the Georgian delegation also drew attention to the liberal tax system and attractive investment environment. The parties also discussed the possibility of the Emaar Properties entering the Georgian market and implementing large investment projects.
It should be noted that Emaar Properties is a transnational real estate development company that operates in many countries of Asia, Europe and North America and owns billions of assets worldwide, and Mohamed Alabbar is the owner of the tallest building in the world - Burj Khalifa. As noted by the First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, the entry of such a large corporation as Emaar Properties into Georgia will give an additional incentive to increase the awareness of our country, trust in Georgia not only in the Emirates, but also in the Gulf and other countries.
“The entry of a company of such a rank into Georgia, which will make a large investment within the framework of a single project in many areas of the economy, is a priority for us. This will have a positive impact on the economy of Georgia, on the creation of new jobs and on new directions” – Levan Davitashvili said.
The founder of the Emaar Properties emphasized that Georgia remains one of the most interesting and advanced destinations for investment, including in terms of trade, tourism and aviation. According to Mohamed Alabbar, this kind of cooperation will promote the relations between the two countries, as well as strengthen the trade-economic and investment cooperation.
