Postal Stamp Dedicated to 100th Anniversary of State University of Theatre and Cinema

At the Shota Rustaveli State University of Theatre and Cinema, a postage stamp dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the institution was presented. Rector Giorgi Shalutashvili, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Guram Guramishvili and the General Director of the Georgian Post, Levan Chikvaidze addressed the guests at the event.

According to the Deputy Minister Guram Guramishvili, apart from the philatelic value, the postage stamp also has a symbolic meaning - in this case, the state of Georgia expressed its attitude towards one of the oldest educational institutions of the country, which contributed greatly to the formation of Georgian cinema and theatre. "This stamp is a clear message to the world that we have a 100-year-old theatre and cinema school with great and famous traditions" – the Deputy Minister noted.

Within the framework of the event, the General Director of the Georgia Post, Levan Chikvaidze presented to the rector, Giorgi Shalutashvili, the first copy of the postage stamp dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the University.

In addition, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Georgian Post and Shota Rustaveli State University of Theatre and Cinema, which aims to implement joint projects.
The stamp dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the State University of Theatre and Cinema has been in circulation since December 2023 and is available in 80 service centres of the Georgian Post throughout Georgia. It is now possible to send postal items with the marked stamp. The author of the stamp is Baadur Koblianidze, and the circulation of the postage stamp is 10 000 units.
