Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili held another coordination meeting with investors of high-class hotels and other accommodation facilities, including restaurants and entertainment-leisure spaces, under construction in the resort of Abastumani.
Deputy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili, Adigeni Municipality Mayor Gocha Kimadze and the representative of the State Representative to the region as well as about 10 investors of different objects also participated in the coordinating meeting.
Within the framework of the meeting, the parties once again discussed the existing issues related to the development of Abastumani and the existing construction works within the framework of the rehabilitation of the resort.
The investors of the large projects in Abastumani personally provided information to the Vice Prime Minister regarding the construction of their facilities and once again noted that the works are being carried out according to the plan.
Levan Davitashvili introduced the important infrastructural works implemented by the state to the participants of the meeting.
According to Levan Davitashvili, in order to develop the resort, the state is in constant communication with the private sector involved in the rehabilitation of the resort.
“We are intensively continuing meetings with investors who are building high-class hotels and other accommodation facilities in Abastumani, thereby contributing to the development of the resort. We are in constant communication with the business and I am sure that our close cooperation will transform Abastumani a unique resort that hosts thousands of guests. It should be noted that the rehabilitation works of Abastumni are being planned and a large part of the works has been already accomplished. As you know, according to the plan announced by us, the resort will be ready for the summer season of 2025, and as of today, ongoing and completed works give a reason to say that the renovated Abastumani will host local and international tourists in accordance with modern standards,” – Levan Davitashvili commented.
Within the framework of the Abastumni development plan, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure has already completed the rehabilitation of 20 historical houses of the 19th-20th centuries, the National Astrophysical Observatory built in 1932, and the cableway built in 1982 on the central street of the Abastumni resort. Relevant spatial planning plan for the development of Abastumni resort was elaborated as well.
