4-month Paid Internship State Program to Be Launched at Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development

Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development launches a 4-month paid internship state program for university student from September 2024.

According to the terms of the program, any effective citizens of Georgia with appropriate knowledge of a state language and studying at the bachelor's or master's level will be able to participate in the program and, accordingly, undergo paid internships in the Ministry and its sub-departmental organizations. Those who have already completed their bachelor's or master's degree in the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, can also apply. 

The criteria for the selection of interns is determined by the academic performance (GPA) indicator and the points system of the person wishing to intern. During the interview, preference will be given to the candidates with the highest grades.

Within the framework of the program, 181 citizens of Georgia will undergo internship in the central office and sub-agency organizations of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development in the following directions. In particular:

  • Law - 40 positions; 
  • Economy - 25 positions; 
  • Business administration - 17 positions; 
  • Construction/hydro technical construction/spatial planning/urban planner/architecture - 10 positions; 
  • Geology/cartography - 10 positions; 
  • Physics, chemistry, radiophysics, automation and control systems, engineer, auto engineer, electrical engineer - 14 positions; 
  • Energy - in 7 positions; 
  • Finance/audit - 8 positions;  
  • International relations - 6 positions;  
  • Public administration - 5 positions; 
  • Journalism, public relations - 5 positions;  
  • Communication/information and communication technologies - 4 positions; 
  • Transport/Logistics - 5 positions; 
  • Marine navigation in the direction of navigator, mechanic, navigation safety specialist/forecaster - 5 positions;  
  • Marketing - 4 positions;  
  • Tourism - 3 positions; 
  • Social sciences - 2 positions;  
  • Programming/IT specialist - 2 positions;  
  • Psychology - 1 position;  
  • Any other higher education direction - 10 positions.

Applicants for an internship at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development should submit an application from August 2 to 8 through www.hr.gov.ge.

The competition will be held in two stages - selection of documents and interview. In accordance with the results of the competition, the authorized commission makes the decision to join the program as an intern.

Within the framework of the mentioned program, paid internships were also announced for representatives of national minorities living in Georgia, who have completed an educational course of training in the Georgian language. With this program, 6 people will undergo an internship at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.
